HOA Rebates

Thornton Water offers a variety of rebates to assist Homeowners associations (HOAs) in reducing their water consumption, both outdoors and indoors.

Toilet Rebate

This program offers rebates to HOAs in the Thornton water service area for replacing old toilets with WaterSense-certified models. For the replacement of installed toilets only, not for new construction. Must be WaterSense-certified toilets. Standard 1.6 or dual flush toilets on the WaterSense list do not qualify.

Irrigation Efficiency Project Rebate

The commercial irrigation efficiency project rebate program encourages custom irrigation system enhancements designed to save water and money. This rebate program is for non-residential Thornton water customers (for example, HOAs, schools, churches, businesses, and multifamily properties). The rebate is a 50% match, up to $10,000, subject to budget availability.

Project examples could include installing weather-based irrigation controllers, rain sensors, hydrometers, and master valves, conducting an irrigation system audit, or replacing inefficient irrigation system components. If you have a water-saving project in mind and would like to see if it qualifies and if funding is available, please contact Water Resources at 720-977-6600 or email Water@ThorntonWater.com.

Commercial and Common Area Water-Wise Landscape Grant

Our goal is to incentivize water demand reduction on irrigated landscapes from 0.5 to 5 acres. Your project may qualify for a grant that offers 50 percent of the cost of design, renovation, and installation, up to $10,000 per acre. Funds are subject to availability and provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 720-977-6600 or email Water Resources at Water@ThorntonWater.com to check whether grant funds are available before starting a landscape conversion project.

Building Water Efficiency Project Rebate

The Building Water Efficiency Project Rebate Program encourages custom indoor/building water fixture enhancements designed to save water and money. This rebate program is for non-residential Thornton water customers (for example, HOAs, schools, churches, businesses, and multifamily properties).

Project examples could include upgrading plumbing fixtures and appliances, constructing a reuse system, installing new water-efficient technology, and retrofitting a water-intensive process, among others. The rebate is a 50% match, up to $10,000, subject to budget availability. Free Sprinkler Evaluations

Free Slow the Flow: Non-Residential Sprinkler Evaluations and a personalized watering schedule are available to Thornton Water customers through Resource Central.

Evaluations help you:

  1. Save money on your water bill.
  2. Improve the appearance of your landscape.
  3. Increase your water efficiency.
  4. Maximize the lifespan and effectiveness of your sprinkler system.
  5. Identify problems in your sprinkler system.

Track Your Usage

To help your HOA save water, start by tracking your water use!

View your Water Smart Reports on your utility billing page, and use Waterfluence to help you budget your water use.

Waterfluence is a free service to improve irrigation efficiency for commercial and public customers by monitoring water use, providing insights, and connecting property managers with critical information. Contact us if you are interested in enrolling.
